Introduction from the President

Welcome to the world of swimming and in particular the largest voluntary youth organisation in the area -

York City Baths Club.

Our expressed vision is:

“TEACH YORK TO SWIM - FAST”

This recognises the safety critical aspect of our teaching the regions youngsters to swim well and equip them with one of the healthiest activities available - for life. The club has embarked upon a more focused, integrated, teaching and competing model. This model is being adopted throughout the whole of UK swimming and will ensure we continue to produce some of the best competitors in the country. We want to progress at an even more rapid rate and we believe we can do this with your support.

The achievements of YCBC swimmers each year are impressive.

2-300 of them learn to swim to a level well beyond that demanded by the National Curriculum - at least 1-2 years ahead of the government target.

Over 150 swimmers represent the club in individual and team competitions in the year at all levels.

We have the skills, commitment and enthusiasm. Our aim is to deliver the best teaching and coaching to our two thousand members and immediate supporters. With the benefit of a true partner organization working for mutual benefit, we can achieve much that will then be sustained for years to come, for all concerned.
